Storm Sewer Design and Modeling

Storm Sewer Design and Modeling

About this course

This training begins with the fundamentals of hydraulics & hydrology and then takes the participants through the advanced processes of storm sewer network modeling including automatic model development, multi-scenarios modeling, automatic designing tools, consideration of inflows/ infiltration, network augmentation strategies, automatic catchment delineation and lastly, generating reports.

Skills taught

Upon successful completion of this course, the participant shall be able to:

  • Learn to create, analyze, and design complex storm sewer networks with inlet bypass flows and gravity and surcharged pipe flows.

  • Analyze culvert hydraulics.

  • Become familiar with industry-standard design procedures and methodologies.

  • Learn to use the software's Scenario and Alternative features to evaluate and compare alternate designs and multiple rainfall events.

Course prerequisites

The participant must be a diploma/ graduate of Civil/ Environmental/ Mechanical Engineering. Basic theoretical understanding of Fluid Mechanics, Hydrology and Hydraulics is desirable but not compulsory.
